Why I started

I keep coming back to the same question. What would it take to give the people I love more time with me, more security under them, more vacations we actually take, more memories we get to make instead of just plan for someday? That question is what started all of this.

Underneath it, I think I was really chasing something simpler: a lifestyle of personal freedom. Not the version of freedom that means doing nothing, the version that means getting to choose. Choosing how I spend a Tuesday. Choosing to say yes to a trip without doing math in my head first. Choosing to be present instead of just physically there.

That question kept following me around at almost every job I have had; the same jobs I was good at, showed up for, and still somehow felt like it belonged to someone else more than it belonged to me. I realized my whole sense of who I was had gotten wrapped up in a title I didn't fully choose from scratch, and I wanted to build something that was actually mine.

And here's the part I won't pretend doesn't matter: the money is real, and it should be. Being a father changes what "extra income" even means. It's not abstract anymore, it's my daughter’s shoes that don't stop growing, activities that add up faster than anyone warns you about, and knowing that whatever I build now is something they'll actually feel the benefit of later. A side hustle that brings in an extra $5,000 to $25,000 a year isn't life-changing on its own, but it's a car payment gone, debt paid down faster, a family vacation, one less thing to stress about when the bills land the same week as a birthday party. I'm tired of vague promises, and I'm guessing you are too, especially if you're doing this with kids counting on you, so every experiment here gets logged the same way: what it cost, what it paid, and whether it's actually worth repeating and a stress and fulfillment rating.
